Project VALET (Providing Valuable Area Life-Saving Exams in Town) is a mammography education and screening program for asymptomatic women ages 40 and older who are uninsured, do not receive county assistance, Medicare or Medicaid, and are patients of participating clinics.

Project VALET addresses barriers such as cost and transportation by bringing free mobile mammography services to the communities where eligible women live. In addition, through partnerships with participating facilities, Project VALET ensures access to necessary follow-up diagnostic testing when abnormal results are identified. 

Steps to get a screening mammogram

1. To participate in this program, contact a participating clinic to schedule an appointment. A list of clinics is provided below.
2. Participants will receive breast health education to better understand what to expect during a mammogram and the importance of early detection in breast cancer. 
3. Call and schedule the screening mammogram.

If additional diagnostic testing is needed, patients will be referred to a participating diagnostic facility. Diagnostic exams are covered through Project VALET for women who receive a screening mammogram through this program.
